The SG550 Scout Guard Camera is a standalone security camera, with a built in DVR, which can record either still photos or video to an SD card when triggered by motion.
It is powered by 8 AA Batteries, giving up to 6 months stand by time, and there is a corded remote control which can be used to program the camera to your own requirements. The remote can also be used cause the camera to take photos like a normal digital camera.
The camera can be triggered by movement using its highly sensitive Passive Infrared motion sensor (PIR) and can be programmed to take up to 3 high quality pictures (up to 5 megapixel, standard 3 megapixel) or 640 x 480 Video Clips which can be from 1-60 seconds. The camera can set to re-arm immediately or delay from 1-60 seconds.
The camera can take an SD card up to a 2Gb capacity, which can hold about 250 x 10 second videos, or more than 2,000 x 3megapixel images.
The sensitivity of the PIR can be adjusted, and there are infrared LEDs which act as a flash for still pictures or floodlights for video.
