Two men were caught on tape burglarizing a Weatherford discount store on Saturday.

Weatherford police said the pair robbed the Dollar General in the 1900 block of Fort Worth Highway at about 3 a.m.

They said the men cut the phone lines on the outside of the business to disable the alarm before prying open the glass front door. Once inside the building, the men broke a row of lights in an apparent attempt to keep the building dark inside, police said.

The burglars also unplugged a security camera and power wires to a recording device but were captured on tape beforehand.

The men cut into the store safe, taking a money bag containing about $2,000, police said.

Investigators describe the men as being black. One is thin and wore black or blue knee-length shorts and a dark blue hoodie covering his face. The other man is taller and heavier and was also wearing black or blue knee-length shorts, black shoes, a dark blue t-shirt and a light blue or white ski mask that covered his face.

Investigators also said the men could have had radio communication with a third person, possibly a lookout monitoring the outside of the business.
